See an open cluster of stars

The image shows the structure of NGC 2164, an open cluster in the constellation Doradus.

This is young

star cluster probably formed inthe same neutral hydrogen complex along with NGC 2156, NGC 2159 and NGC 2172. The clusters have similar metallicities, but they have different core radii. 

NGC 2164 is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf galaxy and a satellite of the Milky Way. It occupies an area of ​​the sky of the southern hemisphere in the constellations Dorada and Table Mountain.

The picture shows  a scattering of stars, many of which are relatively young. Typically, star clusters contain up to several thousand luminaries.
