The American startup's bladeless aircraft can reach speeds of Mach 0.8. The model is called Jetoptera and

it operates on the principle of a VTOL (vertical take-off and landing aircraft). It takes off and lands at zero horizontal speed using engine thrust directed vertically.

The prototype has already been tested. The development company officially presented data on the progress of tests of Jetoptera: the flight speed reached Mach 0.8 (988 km / h). It flew faster than the Boeing Dreamliner.

According to the company, thanks to the proprietary systemFluid propulsion system (FPS) the aircraft not only takes off and lands vertically, but also accelerates to jet speeds in a forward flight configuration.

Rotating blades have been replaced by devices thatuse air to generate thrust. According to the company, the system combines a gas or electric turbine and an increase in flexible traction. At the same time, it is used at all stages of the flight.
