See how robots assemble and test Samsung foldable phones

2022 phones aren't much more durable, but the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are still something of an engineering marvel. In

Last year, the company showed a folding assembly line, and as this week goes on salethe latest Flip and Fold, Samsung has once again shown how their foldable devices are created.

The video mainly shows the assembly of the Fold 4,from the moment its rear cover snaps into place to a glance at the collapsible phone tank. Along the way, various features are tested, such as the reaction to the S Pen and wireless connection. The device passes the camera's autofocus test by focusing on a grid of white lights while another robot repeatedly presses its side keys - quite rudely, actually.

Of course, it's nice to "look behind the scenes" of the assembly, butit's hard to say that this inspires confidence in the durability of the Z Fold or Z Flip. It's one thing to come off the assembly line with a passing grade, but quite another to endure several years of daily use in the hands of a real living person.
