See how robots imitate the movements of people and animals

Many robots resemble the bodies of humans or other animal species.program them so that they

The authors of the new work have studied how information about the movement of people and animals can be used to train robots.The approach builds on previous work on simulating human or dog motion capture data (MoCap). 

The researchers proposed a method called trajectory optimization, which combines a motion planner and a controllerIt requires less engineering. 

In their article, Stephen Bohez and his colleagues fromDeepMind introduced an alternative approach to training humanoid and bipedal robots: their movement style is similar to humans and animals. The new technique generalizes the motor skills of humans and animals based on data collected using motion capture technology, and then uses them to train real robots.

According to the authors, this will help in the development of robots that more realistically mimic the movements of people and animals. Next, they are going to add patterns of behavior of other animals.
