See the nebula where thousands of stars are being born. They are much larger than the sun

NASA has posted a stunning image of yet another beautiful nebula in the Milky Way galaxy on Instagram.

This time the Spitzer Space Telescopephotographed the object NGC 6334. The image shows a huge number of stars peeking out through thick green clouds and bright red bubbles. In its shape, the nebula resembles the footprint of a cat, which is why it is called the Cat’s Paw Nebula.

The American Space Agency noted thatThe Cat's Paw Nebula is an "active star-forming region." According to preliminary estimates, it is located at a distance of 4,200 to 5,500 light years from Earth.

In the image, the clouds appear green due tofeatures of the instruments of the Spitzer infrared telescope. IR light is useful to astronomers because it can penetrate thick clouds of gas and dust better than optical light (the kind that the human eye can see).

NGC 6334's red color is due to its abundanceionized hydrogen atoms. As NASA notes, stars nearly ten times the mass of the Sun have been born there in just the last few million years.
