See the scattering of stars in the Small Magellanic Cloud

The new image shows the star cluster NGC 330, which is located at a distance of about 180,000 km.Light Years

us. It is located within the Small Magellanic Cloud in the constellation Tucana. 

The object's relative proximity makes it an ideal candidate for studying star formation and evolution.

The patterns around the star that can be seen in the image are called diffraction bursts. 

Because star clusters form from a single primordial cloud of gas and dust, all the stars in this image, for example, are about the same age.This will help astronomers learn more about how stars form and evolve.

The authors note that the image was taken as part of the study: first, to understand why stars in clusters evolve differently than outside them, and second, to determine the limits of a star's size before it explodes.
