See the triple impact crater on Mars

Three impact craters are found in the Lunae Planum region. This region is known to be covered in large lava deposits

from nearby Tharsis Montes volcanoes in the regionTharsis on Mars. From north to south are the volcanoes Ascraeus Mons, Pavonis Mons and Arsia Mons. Mons in Latin means mountain; is a descriptor term used in astrogeology to refer to mountainous features in the Solar System.

In the camera image CaSSIS is in the centerOf note are three medium-sized impact craters with many smaller craters. When zooming in on larger craters, it is easy to see layers in the inner rim that represent the successive accumulation of lava flows.
