Sharp Aquos R5G: flagship with two bangs, a 120 Hz display, a Snapdragon 865 chip and a quad-camera

Japanese technology maker Sharp has released its new flagship smartphone.

called Sharp Aquos R5G.It, like last year’s Aquos R3, received two “bangs” on the display. One is needed for the 16-megapixel front camera, and the second is for the protruding fingerprint scanner. The device screen was equipped with a proprietary IGZO matrix with a diagonal of 6.5 inches, a resolution of 3168×1440 pixels and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, as well as Adobe RGB color gamut.

The device runs on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with a 5G modem and 12 GB of RAM. Built-in storage in the new 256 GB. It can be expanded with a microSD memory card.

On the back side of the Sharp Aquos R5G installedquad camera with a 48 megapixel main sensor. It is complemented by a 12 MP wide camera, a 12 MP telephoto camera, and a 3D ToF sensor. The camera, by the way, supports video recording up to 8K. The smartphone is powered by a 3780 mAh battery. It also gets Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and IP68 water resistance.

The device will be delivered with the pre-installed Android 10 OS.

Price and when to wait

Sales of the Sharp Aquos R5G will start in Japan this spring. The price has not yet been announced.
