Sharp has prepared a folding TV that rolls into a roll

Earlier this year, LG showed the flagship LG Signature OLED TV R (OLED65R9) - a TV that can

twist into a roll. Now Sharp is preparing the same TV.

What is known

The company has already patented several options.folding tvs. In three cases, the display extends upward from the base; in two other cases, the screen is untwisted from above. In this case, the design resembles a screen for the projector.

The manufacturer already has a prototype of suchTV “roll”: with a 30-inch display with a resolution of 4K, a thickness of 0.5 mm and a weight of only 100 g. The screen here goes from bottom to top and collapses into a roll with a diameter of 4 cm.

Such a TV will be easy to pack and transport.

Sharp expected to show its foldingTV at the International Broadcasting Equipment Exhibition Inter BEE 2019, which will be held November 13-15, and the world premiere will be held at CES 2020 at the beginning of next year.
