Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 issue that could undermine its popularity

This morning the premiere of Realme GT Neo 5 SE took place, which became the second smartphone in the world on the latest Snapdragon chipset

7+ Gen 2 after Redmi Note 12 Turbo (readannouncement). And although the chip itself is a modification of the excellent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with reduced frequencies, it may not become a real hit like the Snapdragon 870. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the reason for this is simple - the high cost compared to the inexpensive Snapdragon 778G and its modifications, which Chinese brands will continue to install in mid-range devices in 2023 - even despite the fact that it will celebrate its second anniversary in May.

MediaTek Dimensity 8200 is not going anywhere either, which will also continue to appear in not the cheapest smartphones of this year. In other words, the upcoming OPPO Reno 10 family most likely will not offer Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.
