Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G: Qualcomm 7nm mid-budget chips with integrated 5G modem

solutions: Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G.

What is known

Both new products are built on 7-nanometerSamsung EUV process technology and are successors to the Snapdragon 730 and 730G chips. The processors received eight cores: one main Kryo 475 with a frequency of 2.3 GHz and 2.4 GHz (765G), one productive Kryo 475 with 2.2 GHz and six energy-efficient Kryo 475 with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The Adreno 620 accelerator is responsible for the graphics of the new SoCs. In the Snapdragon 765G it is 20% more productive, thanks to which it performs better in games. All other chipset specifications are the same.

Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G, like Snapdragon865 received support for the fifth generation network with the X52 modem. It is integrated and provides a maximum download speed of 3.7 Gbps. The modem can also operate in mmWave and sub-6GHz networks.

Processors also support RAM up to 12 GBtype LPDDR4, displays with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, cameras up to 192 MP, Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and the new fifth-generation AI Engine for processing AI functions.

When to expect

Redmi K30 5G and OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G are the first on the market to receive the Snapdragon 765G SoC. The smartphones will be announced this month, but they will go on sale in early 2020.
