In November we will have a presentation of both flagship chipsets for Android flagships in 2023 – Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and MediaTek
Dimensity 9200.While we wait for official data, Digital Chat Station provides its information on the basic characteristics of both chips. If it is true, the chips will have different structures: 1+2+2+2 for Qualcomm and 1+3+3 for MediaTek. Each will be based on a custom Cortex-X3 core with a frequency of 3.19 and 3.05 GHz, respectively. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be supported by Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A710 pairs (up to 2.8 GHz in both cases), and the Dimensity 9200 – trio Cortex-A715 at 2.85 GHz. But the energy-saving cores are the same – Cortex-A510 at 2 GHz (one more for MediaTek).
You will have to compare graphical ones in testsAdreno 740 accelerators for Snapdragon Gen 2 and Mali-G715 for Dimensity 9200. They will also have different image processing chips, audio chips and other little things. Let us remind you that MediaTek will report on November 8, and Qualcomm – 15th of November.
