Solana Saga Launch: Premium Cryptophone from the Essential Team

Solana, known as the operator of the blockchain platform of the same name, has begun sales of its first

smartphone – Solana Saga.Its development was carried out by the company OSOM Products, founded by people from Essential and lured many of the engineers who worked on the Essential PH-1 (the company itself was later bought by Nothing, but without most of the employees). As you can expect from Solana, all the main features of the new product are related to the cryptosphere: there is a store of decentralized applications, a Seed Vault wallet storage, and a whole ecosystem for the development of crypto tools, called SMS. No, they do not suggest writing code using text messages; the acronym stands for Solana Mobile Stack.

How the Solana Saga smartphone also turned out to be veryworthy. The device received 6.67″ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 4110 mAh battery with wireless charging support, 50 MP main camera with OIS, 12 MP wide, 16 MP front camera, support for Wi-Fi 6 and UWB, as well as two nano-SIM slots and support for microSD memory cards. The waterproof housing (IP68) is made of ceramic and stainless steel with titanium accents. Sales of the smartphone will begin on April 20 in a single modification (black and green case, 12+512 GB of memory) at a price of $1,000 (81,500 rubles).
