Sony responded to rumors of problems with PlayStation 5 production after shares fell

Companies often miss any rumors regarding their own products. However, Sony decided not to keep

tongue-in-cheek after Bloomberg reported problems with PlayStation 5 production.

The media is wrong

According to sources, the company has reduced circulationset-top boxes due to problems with the release of SoCs from AMD, the production efficiency of which fell by 50%. In a comment to Gamesindustry.biz, Sony denied the rumors, saying that it has not changed plans regarding the volume of PlayStation 5 shipments since the start of mass production.

“Although we do not publish details thatrelated production, the information provided by Bloomberg is false. We have not changed production volumes for PlayStation 5 since mass production began," the statement said.

In previous reports, Bloomberg claimed thatthe company plans to collect about 10 million PlayStation 5s by the end of 2020, and assembly started back in July. Apparently, Sony does not lose optimism regarding the demand for next-generation consoles, or the response was influenced by the 3.5% drop in shares that occurred after the Bloomberg publication.
