Sony began to discontinue production of old PlayStation 4 consoles

In November 2020, new Sony PlayStation 5 consoles went on sale. According to sources, the company has already begun filming

production of older PlayStation 4 models.

Japanese retailers said they have startednotify customers that PS4 500GB Glacier White, PS4 1TB Jet Black, PS4 1TB Glacier White, PS4 2TB Jet Black and PS4 Pro 1TB Glacier White consoles cannot be restocked. The reason for this is the cessation of device production.

Earlier, Sony itself reported that the company does not haveplans to restock PlayStation 4 in the future. This is a logical step for Sony. In conditions when it is difficult to buy a new PlayStation 5, it makes sense to reorient production to fresh models.
