A new generation of Xperia flagships is expected from Sony this spring. And although their main aspect is traditionally considered
cameras, this didn’t stop the Japanese last yearcut down the compact Xperia 5 IV, depriving it of a periscope camera. And judging by the live photo of the Xperia 1 V that surfaced on the Internet, simplifications have reached it as well. While maintaining the same design, the camera block has lost its ToF module and RGB IR sensor. Fortunately, the three main cameras remained untouched: you can see the periscope window, the large main module in the center and the width at the top. The NFC logo on the lid indicates that this is a global model of the device, and Chinese sources point to the main upgrade point: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Considering that the Sony Xperia 1 V in the photo looks like a completely finished product, it is possible that its premiere may take place as part of the MWC 2023 exhibition at the end of February.
