Sony Xperia 5 II: 6.1-inch 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865 chip, 4000mAh battery, triple camera, stereo speakers and headphone jack

Sony held an online event at which it presented its new flagship smartphone - Sony Xperia 5 II

(aka Xperia 5 Mark 2).

What a beast

The device has become smaller and improvedversion of Sony 1 II. It has a glass body with IP68/IPX5 protection and a thickness of 8 mm, as well as a small (by 2020 standards) 6.1-inch display, which is covered with tempered Gorilla Glass 6. The screen has an OLED matrix, FHD+ resolution, and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz and sensor reading frequency 240 Hz. By the way, according to company representatives, Sony Xperia 5 II is the first smartphone on the market that will support 120fps mode in the game Call of Duty Mobile.

A processor was installed under the hood of the deviceSnapdragon 865 with built-in 5G modem and 8 GB of RAM. The device also received a 128 or 256 GB drive, a slot for two SIM and microSD memory cards, an NFC module and a 4000 mAh battery. The battery supports 21W fast charging, but comes with an 18W power supply.

Among the interesting things in the new product, it is worth noting stereo speakers with Hi Res audio, as well as a headphone jack, which is now mainly found in budget smartphones.

If we talk about the camera, then it is triple with12 MP sensors. The first is a 1/1.7" main lens with OIS support, the second is a wide lens with Dual Pixel Autofocus technology, and the third is a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. All three modules have ZEISS optics and are covered with anti-reflective glass.

The Sony Xperia 5 II comes with Android 10 operating system.

Price and when to wait

Sales of the new product will begin this fall, but there is no specific date or price yet.
