SpaceX drone showed a huge "space jellyfish"

The third launch of SpaceX Falcon 9 wasn't a record for the company, but it was no less exciting than any other.

Thanks to him, eyewitnesses and netizens were able to observe a rather rare phenomenon in the night sky, known as a “space jellyfish.”

At the beginning of October, SpaceX launched geostationary communications satellites Intelsat Galaxy 33 and Galaxy 34 into orbit. Both weighed about 7,300 kg.

While the rocket was risingIn the evening sky, plumes of exhaust gases from the accelerator, and then from the upper stage, illuminated it. The pattern resembled a jellyfish floating above the ground.

Although considered rare, space jellyfish have become a common sight following SpaceX launches. Small rays of sunlight in the sky illuminate exhaust pipes at high altitudes.

This time the SpaceX unmanned ship itselfcaught her in the frame. During this time, he waited for the launch vehicle to return to the surface. The drone ship, which was named ASOG (English: A Shortfall of Gravitas, “Lack of Gravity”) was placed 650 km off the coast of Florida to wait for the return of the B1060 launch vehicle, the Teslarati report says.

The drone's onboard camera was pointed in the direction of the launch and captured the space jellyfish from a completely different perspective. The footage also shows that the launch vehicle successfully landed on ASOG.
