SpaceX launches two secret satellites on the most powerful rocket in the world

Falcon Heavy consists of three Falcon 9 rockets linked together, making it the most powerful operational rocket in the world.

Mission USSF 44 launched onorbit two secret satellites. The rocket and payloads took to the skies at 09:41 US Eastern Time from Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Approximately ten minutes after launch, the two side boosters of the Falcon Heavy successfully landed.

Falcon Heavy is “the most powerful operational rocket inworld,” says on the website SpaceX. That's thanks to Falcon 9's three boosters, which provide enormous thrust. Shortly after launch, two of those boosters descended back to Earth side-by-side.

According to SpaceX, this was the first launch and landing of these specific boosters.

The entire launch can be seen in the video below. The video is much shorter than usual because the mission's payload is classified.

Little is known about the satellites sentinto orbit by the USSF 44 mission, except for the fact that they will be launched into high-altitude geostationary orbit. This means they will orbit at the same speed as Earth and cover a given area of space. One of the satellites is the TETRA 1 microsatellite, built by Millennium Space Systems, a subsidiary of Boeing.
