SpaceX tests Super Heavy rocket engines to fly to Mars

SpaceX announced on its Twitter page that it has conducted its first static engine tests.

Super Heavy launch vehicle: it is expected to launch the Starship spacecraft into low Earth orbit for its onward flight to Mars.

On the Space.com it is clarified that on the territory of the test site, located in the Boca Chica area in Texas, SpaceX employees carried out a short-term ignition of three Raptor engines. The entire test took only a few seconds.

Reusable spacecraftStarship is designed for flights to Mars and is designed for 100 people. Previously, Elon Musk stated that the first test flight in low-Earth orbit may be in 2021. However, plans may be adjusted.
