SpaceX's second prototype spacecraft explodes on landing

The rocket with serial number 9 (SN9) was successfully launched with the aim of reaching an altitude of up to 10 km. When landing she

hit the ground and exploded.

The footage shows how a few minutes after launch, the ship explodes when it touches the landing pad.

The ship repeated the Starship SN8 program, whichOn December 9 last year, it rose to an altitude of 12.5 km. SpaceX Chief Integration Engineer John Insprucker noted during an online broadcast that “it was a great flight, just needs a little work on the landing.”

Let us recall that Starship was developed for flights to the Moon and Mars. A prototype rocket exploded during testing in Texas on December 10 after failing to land properly.

SpaceX is currently preparing the first launch of a Super Heavy prototype launch vehicle, which Musk estimates is due for a test launch in the next few months.
