Spain, following other European countries, is ready to transfer German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
What is known
This was announced by the Spanish Minister of DefenseMargarita Robles. According to her, Spain, together with its partners in NATO, will send tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Leopard 2A4 modification. The number of weapons has not yet been announced, but according to information from the RTVE television channel, Ukraine may receive 54 tanks from Spain, but some of them will have to be re-equipped. The first deliveries should begin in the spring.

Leopard 2 is a main battle tank created byby the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. Leopard 2 is the successor to the successful development of the Leopard 1 battle tank. The Leopard 2 has many modifications and is used by the armed forces of Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 tanks of this model were produced.
