
The Spanish Armed Forces are set to deploy the NASAMS air defense system in Estonia.

Known
We are talking about two anti-aircraft missile batteriesNASAMS complexes. This was announced by the Estonian Minister of Defense after a meeting with his Spanish counterpart in Brussels on February 14. Spanish air defense systems will be on combat duty in Estonia from April to July. By the way, by the summer, Estonia plans to close the contract for the purchase of its own air defense system.

For those who are not in the know
NASAMS is a mobile surface-to-air missilecomplex for destroying maneuvering targets at low and medium altitudes. The complex was developed in the early 90s by the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense with the participation of the American Raytheon. The air defense system entered service with the Norwegian Armed Forces in 1994. The AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles have a range of 20-40 km and a maximum altitude of 20 km.
