A strange “face” was found on the surface of Mars

Scientists who study the surface of Mars recently discovered that part of the rocky planet appears to be

“smiles” at them.The strange image was taken by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). According to the University of Arizona, this photo is a combination of geological formations. The image was taken on December 12, 2022, when MRO flew at an altitude of approximately 251 km above the Red Planet.

In fact, it's just the outline of a broken hill at the center of an ancient crater, according to a statement posted on the University of Arizona's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) blog.

Also, people see the bear's face in the collectiondusty rocks and crevices due to a phenomenon known as pareidolia. This is a kind of visual illusion that occurs both in people with a mental disorder and in healthy people. It consists in the formation of illusory images based on real objects.
