Study: Gamers' Brains Synchronize While Playing Together

Scientists have long known that brain synchronization occurs during social interaction in humans.

They recently studied this phenomenon for the first time in multiplayer online games. Discuss

In a new study, physically isolated friendsfrom a friend, gamers performed a joint task in the form of a multiplayer game. At this time, scientists measured their brain electroencephalogram (EEG).

During the measurement, the only interactionbetween the participants took place through the movement of a racing car on the screen. Gamers controlled it in pairs. It turned out that these pairs had synchronized frequencies in the alpha, beta and gamma ranges.

In general, the experiment showed that synchronization in the alpha and gamma frequency ranges leads to improved performance in the game.
