Initially, scientists identified a number of common features inTV series. The researchers noted that they are often created according to uniform patterns. But the characters, motives, plots and patterns of behavior in society differ depending on national specifics.
For example, Turkish TV series are dominated bymatrimonial values, it shows archaic patriarchal traditions, the confrontation between eastern traditions and the Western way of life, the antithetical nature of the traditional way of life in the central, western and eastern parts of the country. These are the series “Black Bread”, “The Day My Fate Was Written”, “What is Fatmagul’s Fault?”, “Sila. Returning Home", "Love and Punishment".
Latin American TV series have an acutesocial issues: material stratification, low standard of living of part of the population, security problems, criminal atmosphere, early marriages, unemployment, domestic violence, severe gender imbalance, life in dangerous areas. These are the series “Brazil Avenue”, “The Red Color of Brazil”, “Mechanism”, “Split Personality”, “Rules of the Game”, “Invisible City”, “Hunter”, “Labyrinth”, “In the Form of Law”.

In melodramatic series, the emphasis is on human problems.
