Survey: 90% of female programmers face gender stereotypes at work

According to the results of a survey of 1,200 girls associated with the IT sector, it turned out that almost half (40%) feel

uncomfortable because of gender stereotypes associated with work, and this also interferes with studying and building a career in a male team.

Therefore, 50% of respondents said that they would be more comfortable in an all-female team.

Also, 43% said that they would like to develop in the field of programming, but every ninth is stopped by high competition from men.

Most of the survey participants are interested in the field of Frontend development (50%), as well as the work of an analyst (17%), a tester (13%) and a Backend developer (9%).

Currently, the share of girls among students in the IT field is only 32%. After conducting a survey, we found out that girls are not always comfortable studying in mixed groups due to stereotypes and prejudices.
