fifth generation fighters F-35 Lightning IISwitzerland has decided to purchase Patriot PAC 3 anti-aircraft missile systems from the United States to replace the Bodluv air defense systems. The authorities of the European country turned to the United States with a request to purchase missiles. The potential deal was successfully approved by the State Department.

This was reported by the Cooperation Agency inSecurity and Defense Areas (DSCA). The contract for the supply of 72 missiles for the Patriot PAC 3, training missiles, consumables and related equipment will be worth $700 million.

The US company Lockheed Martin will be the general contractor. The term of the contract is 5 years.
