Team Ricochet has come up with a new way to identify and punish cheaters in Call of Duty – now they will hallucinate

The Call of Duty anti-cheat team revealed a new measure in their latest blog post.

punishments for dishonest players – Theywill see hallucinations of imaginary opponents. These measures are aimed at forcing cheaters to spend their time and attention fighting the game, while other players enjoy the game without interference.

What is known

Instead of completely blocking scammers, TeamRicochet uses "amortization", which allows them to analyze the actions of the scammer and the software they use to learn how to deal with it. The new cushioning, known as “illusion”, places decoy dummies in the game that only cheaters can see.

According to Team Ricochet, these lures“cannot be detected by legitimate players and does not affect their goal, progress, match statistics or overall gameplay, but serves to confuse cheaters in a variety of ways”. They look, move and act like real players and elicit the same reactions that scammers would expect from their cheating software, which makes their appearance seem legitimate. These illusions are placed near a suspicious player, and if the player interacts with them in any way, he “is exposed as a cheater himself”.

Team Ricochet claims that the illusion method can beapply to known cheaters so as not to distract them during further analysis, or to suspicious players to check if they are interacting with the illusion and essentially &#8220;find themselves&#8221; scammers.

The team also removed another depreciation method,known as &#8220;floating sands&#8221;. This method slowed down or froze cheaters in the game, leaving them vulnerable to attacks, and also made it more difficult for the player to control the game by changing keys or analog stick controls.
