Tesla can no longer be bought with bitcoins: cryptocurrency affects the environment

According to Musk, Tesla will not sell Bitcoin and plans to return to it when the currency switches over

towards more sustainable energy sources.

Musk, however, did not rule out that cryptocurrencies have a promising future, but their development cannot be allowed to come at the expense of a “huge cost to the environment.” 

So far, the company refuses to use bitcoins for transactions and other operations. 

We are concerned about the rapidly growing use of fossil fuels for bitcoin mining and transactions, especially coal, which produces the worst emissions of any fuel.
