Tesla is once again experiencing problems with...operation of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) automatic piloting system, which is already available to 400,000 electric vehicle owners in North America. However, the manufacturer is forced to recall hundreds of thousands of vehicles to update the FSD.

National Highway Traffic Safety AdministrationHighways (NHTSA) required Elon Musk's company to update the software on 362,758 vehicles. The reason was the dangerous behavior of FSD at intersections.

FSD is a software and hardwarea solution that, at this stage of development, allows Tesla electric vehicles to pass regulated and unregulated intersections with minimal driver involvement. NHTSA considers that vehicles of the American company can cause accidents when crossing intersections.
The regulator has four main complaints aboutTesla electric vehicles. First, a FSD-enabled vehicle can drive straight at intersections where only sideways traffic is permitted. Secondly, cars can ignore the stop line. Thirdly, electric vehicles are capable of exceeding speed limits. Fourth, sometimes cars ignore safety precautions when a yellow traffic light is on.
Elon Musk's company said it has noinformation about accidents caused by the defects listed above. The head of Tesla himself urged not to use the term “recall” if the solution to the problem is only to update the software.

The FSD issue affected the Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y. Release years are 2017-2023, 2016-2023, 2016-2023 and 2020-2023. respectively.
