Tesla speed record broken: Croatian electric car becomes the fastest in the world

Croatian electric hypercar manufacturer Rimac has officially announced a new record. Electric car

brand accelerated to 412 km/h. Previously, the Tesla S Plaid model only accelerated to 269 km/h. Thus, Rimac Nevera overtook the Tesla electric car.

Previously, Nevera has already become the fastest acceleratingserial electric car in history. Last year he covered 402 meters (a quarter mile) in 8.582 seconds. It's a $2.1 million two-seat hypercar, while the Model S Plaid is a $136,000 five-seat family car.

Rimac takes Nevera to the Automotive Testing trackPapenburg in Germany. It consists of long, fast banked turns that lead into two straight lanes stretching 4 km. This is one of the few places in the world that is considered safe for this type of testing. To check the results, experts used a GPS-based Racelogic V-Box.

As a result, the electric car Rimac Nevera coped withdrag strip, and broke the Tesla top speed record. By the way, almost at the same speed of 415 km / h, which the automaker predicted four years ago, when the model was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

It is worth noting that drivers will not be able to do thisget up to speed on Nevera custom models - customer cars are limited to 352 km/h. The manufacturer “unlocks” full power only at special events for customers “with the support of the Rimac team and under controlled conditions,” company representatives explain.
