Testing of the largest eVTOL prototype has begun in China

Aerofugia AE200 technical prototype - a full-size, five-seater eVTOL air taxi prototype with tilting

power plants. The AE200 is a five-seat electric air taxi with a wide upper wing and four long power units, each with a propeller at the end. The front row of propellers tilts completely horizontally during cruising flight. Testing of the prototype has recently begun.

Like other Chinese companies producingeVTOL, Autoflight and TCab Tech, Aerofugia plans to enter the market with a manned design rather than jump straight into autonomous air taxis, which eHang, for example, already uses to transport passengers.

Although the AE200 prototype is China's largest VTOL aircraft, according to the South China Morning Post, it is unclear whether Aerofugia's aircraft will be certified and put into service by 2025-2066.
