Thailand urged not to sell kidneys to buy iPhone 14

Mekton warned people that organ trafficking is illegal in Thailand and denounced the circulating meme after it hit Thai social media.

"This is prohibited", – toldManaging Director of the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre. “It is inappropriate to suggest selling organs, especially in order to get money to buy an iPhone. This is morally wrong and unethical."

The photo, which has already been deleted, is believed to have come from a Vietnamese beauty clinic located in Laos.

In Laos, the meme was reportedly mostly taken as a joke, but in Thailand, the photo appears to have been taken seriously.
