Artillerymen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces use high-precision Excalibur shells even with conventional 155 mm M777 howitzers.
What is known
Recently, a video appeared on the network, whichdemonstrates the M777A2 artillery mount with the Towed Artillery Digitalization fire control system. But in a new video, the Ukrainian military fires Excalibur projectiles from a conventional M777 without additional digital modules.
Before firing, the howitzer barrel is directedalmost vertically so that the projectile is displayed at maximum height. The fact that we are dealing specifically with Excalibur is indicated by the marking DA45. For programming, a special remote device is used, which can also be seen on the video.
Recall that Excalibur high-precision projectileshave a range of approximately 40 km and can hit targets with an error of 2 m. According to the latest data, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received 900 M982 Excalibur units worth $92 million.
