The Buk-M1 air defense system destroyed a Russian aircraft without launching a single missile

Hero of Ukraine and commander of the Buk-M1 missile battery spoke about how they managed to destroy the Russian

plane without spending missiles on it.

What is known

Yaroslav Melnik - commander of the anti-aircraft missilebatteries "Buk-M1". He already has 28 destroyed enemy air targets. Among them are 11 combat aircraft of the Russian army, two helicopters and two cruise missiles. The remaining targets are unmanned aerial vehicles.

One of the aircraft managed to be eliminated, notlaunching a single rocket. As it turned out, the Russian pilot ejected after the illumination radar was activated on the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system. As a result, the plane itself crashed.
