The development of a super-heavy Russian rocket for flights to the moon Yenisei may be postponed

Information appeared online that members of the Russian Academy of Sciences proposed to postpone the creation of

super-heavy Russian rocket for flights to the Moon “Yenisei”. Thus, the development of a promising project may be postponed if the space department listens to the words of scientists.

The experts argued their position by the fact thatthe rocket should at its core use the most breakthrough, promising and economically viable technologies, according to Naked Science. And if you follow the original plan, according to which the first launch of a new rocket should take place at the end of the 2020s, then the project will have to be implemented on rather outdated developments.

Note that earlier some of the experts didquestioned the reality of the creation in Russia of a fundamentally new super-heavy carrier within the specified time frame. So, the scientific director of the Institute of Space Policy Ivan Moiseev stated that the total cost of the rocket is comparable to the cost of the Federal Space Program until 2025.
