The expert drew attention to the fact that scammersbegan to frequently use hybrid phishing attacks with elements of social engineering and all sorts of scenarios for deceiving users. Among other things, attackers also use face-spoofing technologies – deepfake. Moreover, their credibility is growing from year to year. In this regard, the expert predicted that in 2021, deepfake could become so realistic that the dissemination of false information will become the main source of trouble for information security specialists.
At the same time, according to Tyurnikov, phishing will remain the most popular type of fraud this year. He also noted that currently there are 75 times fewer malicious sites than phishing sites.
