The expert told how many real hackers are in Russia

Head of the Department of Information and Analytical Research at T.Hunter Igor Bederov

commented on the opinion that for cyber warfareRussia should attract hackers. The specialist said that very few participants in the cybercriminal community in Russia can be called real hackers. Discuss

According to him, this is from 0.2% to 0.3% of allRussian hacktivists. Hackers are specialists who are able to find and exploit infrastructure vulnerabilities, engage in espionage and conduct destructive attacks. The rest are in the majority - the lowest "caste" - carders - scammers who specialize in stealing bank card data and using them.

Also among them are DDosers - those who attack sites for destruction, ransomware and other low-skilled criminals. But they are not hackers. Therefore, it is unlikely that such people will help Russia in the cyber war.

“All the rest are scammers, carders, DDoSers, extortionists and other low-skilled criminals, who are often mistakenly called hackers,” Bederov emphasized.
