10 times more often Russians started visiting scam sites

Kaspersky Lab told reporters

how many times more often did Russians start visiting scam sites in early 2020.

According to the Izvestia publication, the numberuser conversions to fake sites increased tenfold to 15 million. And the number of such resources doubled in the first quarter of 2020 compared with the same period a year earlier. In total, Kaspersky Lab experts found about 10 thousand fraudulent sites.

The company believes that the sharp rise in fakeresources may be due to a pandemic of coronavirus infection. Because of it, Russians began to spend more time at home and "sit" on the Internet. And the pandemic theme itself is being exploited by scammers. In particular, fraudulent resources are disguised as sites for the sale of medical masks or pages with statistical information on COVID-19.
