Russian Post will lose up to 30 billion rubles due to a decrease in the number of purchases on the Internet

Head of the Joint Stock Company

Russian Post society Maxim Akimov told how much money the postal network operator will lose due to a decrease in the number of purchases on the Internet.

The revenue decline this year could range from 18up to 30 billion rubles. This is due to a reduction in the delivery of distance selling goods. At the same time, as Akimov reported, Russian Post delivers a million parcels a day across the country in cross-border trade.

The representative of the postal operator also noted, that everyone is now expecting a drop in demand in e-commerce. Akimov believes that the online trading sector needs support during the pandemic. “We really need a close dialogue with the state,” said the head of the Russian Post.

Recall that in Russia now 171 thousand people are under medical supervision because of suspected coronavirus.
