The Mortal Kombat film has found its Sonya Blade and Kano, but it won’t do without new heroes

 

Along with Mortal Kombat 11, a film based on the game’s universe also acquired additional fighters.

The film adaptation of Mortal Kombat has already found its peopleLiu Kang, Milena, Raiden and Jax, and now Sonya Blade and Kano will join them. According to the Hollywood Reporter, US Army Special Forces Lieutenant (Sonya) will be played by Jessica McNamee from The Meg: Monster of the Deep. The role of Kano was given to Josh Lawson, who played in “The House of Lies.”

Lewis Tan, who played the mutant Shatterstar in the film Deadpool, also joined the filming. According to journalists, Tan will be cast in the main role, but the name of the character has not been named.

The film adaptation of Mortal Kombat will be released on March 5, 2021. According to the screenwriter of the film, Greg Russo, the spirit of the film will be closer to Deadpool with its jokes, action and characters.
