The Airspeeder EXA series, the equivalent of Formula 1 in the sky, has completed its first circuit race. So far only people have participated in the event
The race took place in the picturesque atmosphere of pinksalt marshes near Lochiel Lake in Australia. Two pilots were admitted to the race, who received a special license to control flying "fireballs" in extreme conditions.

The competition included three laps performed ontrack 1 km long. The track equipment included augmented reality systems and all the standard components of classic racing: engineering and command control rooms and a quick pit stop with battery change.
In high speed space, pilots couldmaneuver both horizontally and vertically, and the gap at the finish was only 1 m. To prepare for the competition, the pilots - Fabio Tischler and Zefatali Walsh - spent many hours on the simulator to hone their movements.

EXA is the first in a series of remotely piloted races to be held ahead of the full-crew Airspeeder Grand Prix starting in 2024.
