The first electric tractor was developed in Russia: it has already been tested

The first serial electric tractor is being created in Russia. The KM Universal model is equipped with an electric drive, and

it has already been tested. The engineering companies “Active Techno” and “Apriori Machine Solutions” (resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center) are involved in the production.

Now the companies are preparing to submit to the Ministry of Industry and Tradeplan for import substitution of important electrical components of the tractor. If everything goes well, then by the end of 2022, KM Universal will enter the market. It is planned that electrical equipment will be used for work in agriculture and urban areas.

Russian engineers have created an electric tractor, takingbased on the production model of the production of the Cheboksary plant of power units. She, in turn, came to replace the legendary Soviet tractor T-16. It was also called "Chassis".

The electric tractor is being developed from the middle2021. The new car is powered solely by a battery and is not equipped with a conventional engine, which runs on diesel fuel. Instead, there is a KM Universal hydrostatic transmission with a battery and an electric drive system. It not only ensures the movement of the tractor, but is also responsible for the operation of all attachments.

As the authors of the development note, the lacka familiar engine allows you to save money on maintenance. “KM Universal” does not require changing oil and filters. It is noteworthy that the price of an electric tractor will not differ much from that of machines with a conventional engine produced by ChZSA.
