In the Geekbench 5 benchmark, a MacBook Air with an M2 chip and16 GB of memory scored 1899 points in single-core and 8965 points in multi-core tests. These are about the same scores as the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip, which confirms that the performance of laptops in synthetic testing is almost the same as in the case of models on the M1.
Even though the M2 chip is the same in the MacBook Airand the MacBook Pro in Geekbench tests, the MacBook Pro may still perform better in real-world conditions during long, resource-intensive workloads because, unlike the MacBook Air, it has a fan.
