The publication Onliner tested the operation of the updated Honor smartphone. The device will literally appear on the shelves
The author of the material used the new Honor 50 for a week. As a result, the specialist highlighted several of the most important features of the device.
- Slim and light phone without stereo speakers... The smartphone will be available in three colors:black, dark green (glossy body), light purple (matte body). There is also an opportunity to use two SIM cards at once. Apart from the stereo speakers, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. But the specialist appreciated the work of the scanner: it is much faster than in middle-class devices. And if you compare with devices that cost $ 1000 (72 thousand rubles) and more, then the scanner responds more slowly. The smartphone has a thin body, but rounded edges, which is not very convenient.
- Bright and contrasting screen with one drawback... The update frequency can be configured here:60 Hz, 120 Hz and dynamic display options are available. At the same time, even with a setting of 120 Hz, the operating time of the device is quite acceptable. As for the disadvantage, this is an inversion of colors: under any tilt, the image appears either greenish or yellowish.
- Great performance. The smartphone is based on a Snapdragon processor778G. RAM capacity – 8 GB, built-in – 128 or 256 GB. Unfortunately, there is no slot for an additional memory card, but there is 5G support. In general, the device is quite powerful and does not heat up much under load. Of the games on it, even Genshin Impact can be run on high settings. The operating system here is Android 11, shell – Magic UI 4.2. But there are some interface features: for example, they made the Camera application as inconvenient as possible, in which it is impossible to swap shooting mode buttons, and the keys for switching lenses are located at the bottom in the middle. However, it is important that the device now has an official application store – Play Market.
- A day of work without recharging. A battery with a capacity of 4300 mAh makes it possible to use the device throughout the day, but only if you don’t get too carried away with games. The author charged it from 10 percent to 100 percent in about 50 minutes.
- Camera... Four camera modules are installed, two ofwhich (macro and depth sensors) do not work well. Movies can only be shot in 4K 30fps, and switching from the main lens to the wide-angle lens while shooting a movie is not possible. Photos in daylight look good, but in the evening and at night there are noticeable noises.In general, the pictures are of quite standard quality: they cannot be compared with those taken on flagship smartphones, but they are suitable for Instagram.
Another disadvantage the expert lists is the lackmoisture and dust protection, wireless charging functions. The device is favored by its light and thin body, excellent performance, powerful hardware, and fast fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone is priced at 1399 Belarusian rubles – this is approximately 40 thousand Russian rubles at the current exchange rate. The exact price in the Russian Federation will become known on November 5.
