The Hermitage will hold an exhibition of digital art in NFT format

The Hermitage stated that this exhibition will be Russia's first "exhibitional research in the field of art

NFT tokens and their use in the artistic field.” The museum's contemporary art department will work on the new exhibition. 

Non-fungible tokens have become a new formsecuring the right to a work of art using blockchain technology: this way you can establish unambiguous control over copyright and ownership rights. 

According to representatives of the museum, a new form of digital art began to be actively created just a few months ago.

The museum called this project “the most urgent” agenda in the field of contemporary art. The exhibition will run until the end of 2021.
