The outburst came from a very young star, onlybeginning its evolution, and the picture shows a gas jet moving at supersonic speed. The glow you see in the image is due to the jet colliding with gas and dust around the star, the European Space Agency (ESA) said.

This is not the first time Hubble has captured this object.camera. The telescope observed this region, named HH34, between 1994 and 2007, and at extremely high resolution in 2015, the ESA notes.

HH34 lies about 1,250 light-years from Earth and resides in the famous Orion Nebula, which Hubble has also photographed repeatedly over the decades.
