The Last of Us series lifted the game to the top sales charts

HBO's The Last of Us has achieved incredible success, so it's no surprise that people haven't previously

those familiar with the games had a desire to play it.Apparently they did, because the game is very popular again. According to the latest NPD Group report, The Last of Us: Part I jumped from 36th place in December 2022 to 11th in January of this year, when the series premiered.

Basically, we've seen this before:with The Withcer 3: Wild Hunt after Netflix's The Witcher, or Cyberpunk 2077 after the super-successful Cyberpunk: Edgrunners. But as far as TLoU goes, it seems like Sony expected the series to increase in popularity through the game, rather than the other way around.
