The May Aquarids meteor shower will begin on May 5 and will last for three days

The May Aquarids, which originate from the dust trail of Comet Halley, are active from mid-April to

end of May. Usually during the maximum period you can see about 30 meteors per hour.

As told in the Moscow Planetarium, the meteorthe May Aquarids stream will peak on May 5, 6 and 7. On these dates, the number of meteors will reach 50 per hour. They will fly at a speed of almost 67 kilometers per second and leave long trails in the sky.

It will be possible to observe the stream with the naked eye, and it is best to do this in the predawn hours, from 2 to 4 in the morning.

To see meteors, you need to look at the southeastern horizon, and as a guide you can use the Summer Triangle, a constellation of three bright stars Vega, Deneb and Altair.

The radiant of the stream, or the point in the sky from whichvisually meteors fly out, rises only in the morning and is best seen from the southern hemisphere. It is noted that the stream will be visible only under favorable weather conditions.
